of Zion Union Church
Zion Church of the Evangelical Association -Zion Union Church
Among the members of the first class were

- Samuel Luntz
- Samuel Dreibelbis
Zion Church of the Evangelical Association was organized at the house of Samuel King.
Services were held at King's house and at Salem until
1844, when a frame church was built, an acre of ground having been given for that purpose by
Samuel Dreibelbis. The present place of worship was erected in 1875 and dedicated February
21, 1876. Adam King, Nicholas Gilger, Emanuel Shirey, and John Martz composed the building
committee and Reverend G.W. Cupp was pastor. The Reverend J. Esch is the present
incumbent(1890). The first sunday school superintendent was Abraham Mull. The present
burying ground was given in 1850 by Joseph Distler and David Martz.
