STATE HISTORICAL MARKERS in VENANGO COUNTY

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission's Marker Program, established in 1946, is one of the Commission's oldest and most popular programs. The blue and gold markers are located throughout the state. The guidelines formulated in the late 1970s require "that the person, event or site to be commemorated have had a meaningful impact on its times and be of statewide or national rather than only local significance."
