Provided
The descendants of Levi and Mary Williams held their annual reunion at
"The Old Mill Grove" Sutton's Mills, Wednesday, August 5, with about 200
present.
After a sumptuous dinner in the cool, pleasant, grove, the following
program was carried out, Rev. Porter Williams
presiding--
Minutes of last meeting were read--Ida Williams, secretary.
Sophronia Williams Dugan gave a very interesting history of the
Williams family dating back to the emigration from Wales of the first
members of the family to Lancaster county, later to Venango county.
Several members of the family fought in the Revolutionary War, others in
the War of 1812, and still others in the World War.
Members of the family are eligible to become members of the D.A.R.
Mrs. Dugan felt that her history was not satisfactorily finished and
wished the help of the other members of the family to complete the
history for next year; so the following were appointed: Myrtle
Williams, Mrs. Johnson, Mary Williams, Mr. Casey, Plumer Campbell, Mary
Warner, and Ida Yoho, each of these representing a separate branch of
the family.
Mrytle Williams gave a splendid history of the Eli Williams family, and
Plumer Campbell reported on the family of Katherine Williams. Rev.
Johnson gave a short talk and Sara Williams, from Porto Rico, told many
interesting things about that island.
